Chanukah Lasts for 8 Days and Nights.

Chanukah begins at Sundown on December 12th the 25th of Kislev.

That is when we light the first candle because chanu they rested on kof hey on the 25th of Kislev.

Chanukah is the story of the Jews fighting for Their right to religious  practice as they always had against the Greeks who tried to destroy and reform it. After they won they searched the Beis Hamikdosh for a jar of oil that had not been defiled as they sent someone on the 8 day trip to get more oil. The found one small jar of oil that was to last 1 day but that jar lasted all 8 days by a miracle. We celebrate  the miracle of the oil and winning with our small army against the big strong army on the holiday of Chanukah. 

All you need from a Dollar Tree is:

• 5 Party Favor Pails
• 2 or 3 Bags of white Sand
• Whichever candles you choose as long as they burn for at least 30 min after nightfall.

Directions:

1. Just fill each bucket with sand.
2. Stack 2 together for the Shamush.
3. Bury a candle in the center of each sand filled bucket for each night of Chanukah starting on the right side.
4. Light your menorah starting with the candle on your left.
